Jambojet has strengthened its cargo operations after integrating its freight capacity into WebCargo by Freightos, a move expected to streamline digital access to the airline’s regional network and improve efficiency for freight forwarders across East Africa.
The low-cost carrier announced on 25 November 2025 that the partnership will enable logistics companies to view and book Jambojet’s cargo space in real time across its nine routes, including Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Eldoret, Malindi, Diani, Lamu, and Zanzibar. The integration allows forwarders to compare live rates, make instant bookings, and manage shipments end-to-end online, reducing manual processes and enhancing shipment visibility.
Jambojet Managing Director and CEO Karanja Ndegwa said the partnership marks a major step in the airline’s digital transformation.

Digitalization is reshaping air cargo across Africa, and Jambojet is proud to be at the forefront of this change,” he said. “By joining WebCargo by Freightos, we’re giving freight forwarders faster, smoother, and more reliable access to our network—supporting the region’s expanding trade and connectivity. Looking ahead, we’re excited to make our capacity available for interlining on the platform to strengthen links between African markets and the world.
Freightos CEO Zvi Schreiber welcomed the integration, noting that onboarding Jambojet expands WebCargo’s coverage in a rapidly growing logistics region.
“Partnering with Jambojet Cargo expands WebCargo by Freightos’ reach in one of Africa’s most dynamic logistics markets,” he said. “By bringing more regional carriers online, we’re continuing Freightos’ mission to make global trade smoother and more efficient and helping forwarders and shippers access the capacity they need, when and where they need it.”
Jambojet Cargo, launched in 2022, currently transports a variety of goods including fresh produce, pharmaceuticals, live animals, general cargo, and repatriation consignments. The airline handles over 1,000 tonnes of cargo every month across its network and operates an 8-tonne aircraft dedicated to freight operations.
Freightos, listed on Nasdaq under the ticker CRGO, is one of the world’s leading digital freight booking platforms. It connects airlines, ocean carriers, freight forwarders, and thousands of importers and exporters through tools that digitize pricing, booking, shipment management, and customs processes.
The collaboration is expected to position Jambojet as one of the region’s more tech-forward cargo operators, while giving freight forwarders quicker, data-driven access to capacity amid rising demand for efficient transport solutions. The airline recently reappointed founding board chair Ayisi Makatiani to the board’s driving seat, replacing Vincent Rague who has been at the helm since 2014.
